The World Memory Sports Council presents
The 2005 World Memory Championships
hosted by the UK FESTIVAL OF THE MIND
The World Memory Sports Council has announced that the 2005 World Memory
Championships will take place in the Oxford University Examinations School
on August the 13 / 14 / 15th. The event will be hosted by the UK Festival of the Mind
2005 which is being organised by The Buzan Organisation and will be open to the public.
The event will contain a number of lectures on accelerated learning techniques and
Mind Mapping. There will also be an exhibition and display of mind expanding books,
software and self development tools.
The three day event will follow the same schedule as previous World Championships
and the entry fee for competitors has been held again at £30. Details of prizes and further information
about the event will be announced shortly.
Details of accommodation at Oriel College can be found on

They offer en-suite rooms at £55 per person per night including breakfast.
Other alternatives will be shown shortly on the website.
Oxford is an ideal location for the championships and the atmospheric setting
of the University buildings will contribute to making this a very special event.
Many talented memorisers have passed through their doors including Ed Cooke
and Lana Israel.
Already there is considerable press interest in the event with a number of television
channels including Channel 4, asking to cover the event. BBC Radio Oxford DJ Jonathan
Hancock - an ex World Memory Champion, will also be covering the event on air.

Final Call for Competitors
Preparations are going well for the 2005 World Memory Championships.
It look like it is becoming even more international this year with a large group
coming from China and Taiwan, the new National Champions from Mexico,
and competitors from India, the Philllipines, UK, Norway, Germany, Austria,
Australia an the USA.
MEDIA INTEREST
Our PR agency already have enquiries from the media wanting
to interview competitors in advance of the Championship.
If you plan to compete, but haven't already registered, you are
missing out on being a part of the pre event publicity.
CUT OFF FOR REGISTRATION
To allow sufficient time for test papers to be prepared, or translated,
the cut off for registrations for the Championships will be Friday
the 29th of July. However, if you are planning to compete against
this growing international field, do let us know by completing
the registration form.

You will be delighted to know that, with the help and sponsorship of the Si Group,
the World Memory Championships will be a part of the UK Festival of the Mind
in the atmospheric buildings of Oxford University. This event is being heavily promoted
to a large database of people interested in advanced learning techniques. World class experts
will be giving demonstrations and lectures whilst the Championships are happening in another area.
The Festival will enable us to raise the profile of the Championships and to attract more media
coverage. There will be a PR agency involved and we already have interest from Endemol for Channel 4,
the German public broadcaster ARD, and the French/German cultural channel ARTE.

Hallo,
hat irgendjemand die genauen Ergebnisse? Leider war lediglich über Yahoo nur die eine Meldung zu finden, dass Clemens Platz 1, Gunther Platz 2 und Ben Platz 3 hat. Selbst der Veranstalter hat nur die Ergbenisse bis Disziplin 6 drin.
